You can connect OptinMonster to your Matomo account to see how your campaigns are performing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this guide, we&#8217;ll walk you through how to set up event tracking in Matomo for your OptinMonster campaigns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Before you start<\/strong>,&nbsp;<\/em>you\u2019ll need to have an active <a href=\"https:\/\/matomo.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">Matomo account<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/matomo.org\/faq\/new-to-piwik\/how-do-i-embed-the-matomo-tracking-code-in-my-website-cms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">install Matomo tracking code to your website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding the Tracking Code<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To get started, we&#8217;re going to use a code snippet. Think of it as a little messenger that tells Matomo every time one of your OptinMonster campaigns is shown to a visitor (an impression) or when a visitor signs up through one (a conversion). This lets you track your campaign&#8217;s success without ever leaving your Matomo dashboard!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First, you&#8217;ll need to copy the entire code snippet below.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<script src=\"https:\/\/library.wpcode.com\/embedjs\/g5gl003o.js\/\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Paste the embed code into your site template file just before the closing&nbsp;<code>&lt;\/body&gt;<\/code>&nbsp;tag.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Viewing Your Data in Matomo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Great job! Now that the code is in place, OptinMonster will begin sending your campaign events over to Matomo. Here\u2019s how you can find and understand that data. You can view all your campaign events by navigating to the <strong>Behaviour &gt; Events<\/strong> section in your Matomo dashboard. Matomo&#8217;s official documentation offers a more detailed look at <a href=\"https:\/\/matomo.org\/faq\/reports\/common-event-tracking-use-cases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">how to find and use event reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the report, your campaign data is tracked using the following labels:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Event Category:<\/strong> Your OptinMonster campaign&#8217;s name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Event Action:<\/strong> Either <code>om_impression<\/code> or <code>om_conversion<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Event Name:<\/strong> The unique ID of your OptinMonster campaign.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also see these events in the <a href=\"https:\/\/matomo.org\/faq\/reports\/the-visits-log-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">Visits Log<\/a> when looking at an individual visitor&#8217;s journey through your site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-arrow-link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/optinmonster.com\/docs\/how-to-view-campaign-analytics-optinmonster\/\">View native analytics for your campaigns in OptinMonster following this guide<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FAQs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What if I don&#8217;t see any data in Matomo?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t worry, sometimes it can take a little while for new data to show up. First, try clearing your website&#8217;s cache and your browser&#8217;s cache. Then, visit your site in a private or incognito browser window to trigger a campaign impression.
